Practice 02
Litigation & Arbitration
Full-service representation, from assessing the dispute and setting the right course through to judgment or award and its enforcement.
About the practice
The M&CO team has extensive experience in complex commercial and civil disputes and a deep understanding of the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We provide clients with full-service representation, from assessing the dispute and setting the appropriate legal course through to the issuance of a judgment or award and its enforcement.
We manage disputes with an approach that combines rigorous legal analysis with a practical understanding of the client’s objectives and commercial interests, assessing the risks and options available at each stage. This includes representing clients before the courts and judicial committees, as well as before arbitral tribunals in the Kingdom and abroad.
In arbitration, we advise and represent clients at every stage of the proceedings: from assessing the arbitration agreement and developing strategy, through preparing memorials and pleadings and managing the proceedings, to the issuance of the award and its enforcement or challenge, as the case requires.
We also place weight on alternative dispute resolution where it better serves the client’s interests, including negotiation and mediation, with the aim of reaching a practical resolution that protects the client’s position and limits the legal and commercial impact of the dispute.
Our services include
- Representing clients before domestic and international courts and arbitral tribunals
- Preparing memorials, legal defences and submission agreements
- Legal advice on litigation and arbitration disputes
- Pursuing and enforcing court judgments and arbitral awards
- Resolving commercial and civil disputes through litigation or arbitration
